Câu điều kiện, đảo ngữ và câu giả định trong TOEIC
Bốn loại câu điều kiện qua tình huống công việc, đảo ngữ Should you need và Had we known, câu giả định sau request that, unless và provided that.

Câu điều kiện xuất hiện khắp văn bản công việc: If you have any questions, please contact us. Should you need assistance, call the front desk. Câu thứ hai là đảo ngữ, dạng mà Part 5 rất thích hỏi vì người học thường không nhận ra. Bài này cũng đi qua câu giả định sau request, recommend, require, một cấu trúc trông "sai ngữ pháp" nhưng lại đúng.
Bốn loại câu điều kiện qua tình huống công việc

Trong loại 2, were dùng cho mọi ngôi trong văn trang trọng: If I were you, I would accept the offer.
Đảo ngữ: bỏ "if"
Văn bản trang trọng (thông báo, email khách hàng) hay bỏ if và đưa trợ động từ lên đầu:

Câu giả định: V nguyên mẫu sau "that"
Sau các động từ và tính từ chỉ đề nghị, yêu cầu, động từ trong mệnh đề that ở dạng nguyên mẫu (không chia, không thêm -s), với mọi chủ ngữ:
- Động từ: recommend, suggest, request, require, ask, insist, propose, demand, advise.
- Tính từ: It is essential / necessary / important / imperative / vital that…

- B – loại 1, mệnh đề if dùng hiện tại.
- C – đảo ngữ của If you should need.
- C – had (quá khứ) → loại 2.
- B – mệnh đề chính would have gained → loại 3; câu không có had sau chủ ngữ nên phải đảo ngữ: Had the company invested. (A) sai vì If the company invested là loại 2, không khớp với would have.
- B – không xử lý trừ khi nhận được tiền.
- A – câu giả định sau recommend that.
- B – giả định bị động: be signed.
- C – miễn là trả xe trước 6 giờ.
